Tonekind Releases the Nostalgic Funky House Single, “Hey Mr. DeeJay!” German DJ/Producer, Tonekind returns with a brand new single, “Hey Mr. DeeJay!” released via Radikal Records. “Two months ago I was listening to, “Lola’s Theme” by The Shapeshifters and got really inspired by the production. In writing and producing “Hey Mr. DeeJay!”, I wanted to create a nice mixture of Disco, Funk and Electronic music to conjure up something new.” – Tonekind

Combining the classic sounds of old-school disco, funk and house records, the track is a dance-floor-ready jam drenched in nostalgia. The single’s unique blend of genres creates a dance anthem that feels both vintage and modern at the same time.

Tonekind, AKA Christian André Schneider has been producing music since he was 13 years old across many different genres of electronic music. In 2010 he produced the chart-topping platinum single, “Helele” a collaboration between South African singer, Velile and Danish percussion duo, Safri Duo. Under several aliases Tonekind has been the production force behind Radikal singles, “Bei Mir Bist Du Shoen“ (Tomato Jack), and “I Have a Dream” (K-Pax & Taylor). He has also remixed a number of Radikal releases including Salt Ashes “Save It”, Kristian Nairn “4Love”, and Lucas Nord & Tove Lo “Run on Love”.

With the track being so heavily inspired by the sounds of early disco, it seems only fitting for the music video to bring back the moves of Tony Manero, John Travolta‘s character from, Saturday Night Fever. The 1977 classic film helped to popularize disco music and inspire dance-floor moves around the world.
