PRESS RELEASE - Mediterranea Blue (The songbook) Writer/performer Ronnie Harwood is proud to announce the release of his New Album - Mediterranea Blue. The album in an eclectic anthology of Ronnie s work, from the last 10 years. The Album contains a collection of songs; some of which are re-mastered along with others that are brand new. It is true to say that this Album has something for everyone. Ronnie Harwood started his musical journey, playing bass in “Screaming Lord Sutch" band “The Savages”.
His first recorded work was in 1966 with a song written for and recorded by singer Paul Nicholas. In the 1970’s, Ronnie focussed on songwriting and touring with his band - The Ronnie Harwood Rock n Roll Trio".
In 1979. he wrote "God Bless Rock n Roll" for one of the kings of Rock *n Roll. Bill Haley, a version of which is on the album, this time sung by Ronnie himself and in 1981 Ronnie earned a prestigious Ivor Novello award for his song - "You drive me crazy", which was not only a number 1 hit for Shaking Stevens’s but was also the most performed song of that year. Mediterrana Blue contains songs across various styles from Rock n Roll - “God Bless Rock and Roll", through to pop - “Going Crazy" and blues - “Cool Hand Luke" & “Waltz with the blues" and many of the songs feature the talents of some of Ronnie’s musical friends’ who are also renowned session musicians in their own right, as well as Ronnie's own signature acoustic guitar playing.
The album title and title track "Mediterranea Blue", was inspired by his time in L'Estartit in Catalonia. Recently. Paul Nicholas has released one of Ronnie s songs on his latest album “Gold", to come full circle with the artist who he recorded his first song with. Ronnie Harwood - Georgia Records
