WHOAA - Tell Me (How You Feel) - Sangfroid Grp-InAvator (Classic Club RnB)

Tracks 03.06.2018 Classic Club

A great cover of the Nick Martinelli produced 1985 UK favourite from 52nd Street by WHOAA (Ohio & Atlanta) which the act have dedicated to the wonderful former lead vocalist, Diane Charlemagne, who sadly passed away in 2015.

"We were so inspired and just fell in love with Diane Charlemagne's voice upon recording this song. While in the studio recording, we were searching through Social Media for contact for any of the members of the band or Diane. We found out she passed away in 2015 from cancer, while Ring was in between cutting vocals. We were shocked and hurt at the same time, at this point, song just meant that much more to us." DoLLA recalls. "While I was in the booth recording vocals, I Noticed I was singing Runs and ad-libs I didn't even plan for! It was if Diane's presence was with us in spirit".

Download EP FREE @ look at this genre-bending, culture-shocking duo, and one could see how their name fits so appropriately. Hailing from Atlanta, Ga and Cincinnati, Ohio respectively, the artist known as “Dolla” and female vocalist “Ring” make up the group entitled WHOAA (pronounced WHOAA!). With their polished sound delivery and a eye-catching image oozing with commercial sensibility, equipped with a highly energetic stage presence, this duo is a like a breath of fresh air in today’s crowded music scene.

Female member “Ring”, a fiery blonde, pop-rock diva with a “Britney meets Lita Ford” vocal edge, who formerly recorded under “Slim” Williams & Cash Money Records, brings out the sexier edge of WHOAA. The other half, “Dolla”, a genre-defying lyricist with retro 80s “funk” flair, with much versatility that seamlessly weaves Hip-Hop and Pop, brings quite the dynamic balance to WHOAA.

WHOAA’s debut EP “The Day It All Changed” is a culmination of a new sound that’s been crafted over the course of a year, with emerging producer Mike Maven (production credits for Atlantic Records/Warner Brothers). Leading off with their catchy “Let the Good Times Roll”, Top-40 radio anthem “Crusin” and the heavy ballad “Unconditional”, in which the group hopes will inspire a new movement for love and peace in today’s hectic times.

“We just want to spread Love and Hope to those that might be Hopeless, to show the world that music is still a healing tool”, says Ring. The band is currently focused on their highly energetic stage set along with touring festivals abroad.

New Age, Retro-Pop Duo, WHOAA brings forth the Eargasmic "80's Synth" heavy Tune, "Tell Me..." !! Resurrecting that "Retro" image and energy of the past with a modern twist, this Entertaining new Duo, being described as a modern day "Rick James and Teena Marie Part 2" meets the black Eyed Peas; is consistently been bringing back, what they describe as "that Feeling that's Been Missing" in today's music scene. WHOAA has developed a penchant for blending a little bit "old" with the "new" and adding their own twist to make something completely trailblazing and refreshing.

WHOAA is aficionado's of everything 80s and this song pays homage to one of WHOAA's favorite groups from the 80s, British Jazz-Funk band 52ndStreet. This reworking serves as Homage to untimely passing of lead singer Diane Charlemagne in 2015 (RIP).

Most recently WHOAA has been in the studio working with emerging producers: Mike Maven (Kid Ink, Chris Brown, Migos, Wale - Atlantic Records/Warner Brothers), Nick Fury (Nas, T.I., Mary J. Blidge), Earegula (DANJA/ Teddy Riley/ DJ Marley Waters). GRAMMY Nominated Engineer Dan Cohen ( Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Fergie), and GRAMMY Winning Engineers Ken Lewis (Drake, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye West) and John Frye ( Outkast, Gwen Stephani, and TLC).

Going forward WHOAA is prepping the release of several new visuals which will hit fans into the Summer and throughout the Fall.
